Current Competition Horses
Christa has an exciting team of horses in her barn, all incredibly talented horses with promising futures. Learn more about Christa’s current partners below.
Camenicci aka “Cami”
Cami is a 2006 16h imported Oldenburg gelding. He had been imported as a dressage horse by Canadian dressage rider Shannon Dueck, but was a little too hot as he carries quite a bit of “pizzazz and spunk”. Christa fell in love with him and purchased him in May of 2010. Cami has endless natural talent and a fabulous work ethic; he truly loves to please. In 2013 Cami moved up to Intermediate, finishing 5th at his first event at the level and winning his second Intermediate at Rocking Horse Spring HT. Cami went on to finish in 6th place at his first two-star at Poplar Place! He successfully moved up to Advanced in the winter of 2014 and has been competing successfully at the Advanced/3* level since. In 2015, Cami finished in 6th place at the Chattahoochee Hills CIC2*.
Camiro aka “Colby”
Colby is a talented 2010 gelding by Contender x Ramiro B that Christa imported in March of 2015. He has settled into life in America quite well and is currently showing successfully at Training level. Christa will aim Colby for a fall CCI1* at the Ocala Jockey Club.
Rave’n Raja is an exciting young prospect that has joined GET Equestrian Sports. He is a 2011 16.2h off-track Thoroughbred gelding. He is an extremely athletic, brave jumper that has an incredible work ethic. He will compete Novice this summer unrecognized and Christa will aim for a recognized training with him at the end of August 2016.

Governaire aka “Edward’’
Edward, lovably referred to as “The Man from Snowy River’’ is a 2001 16.1h New Zealand Thoroughbred gelding. Christa imported him in the winter of 2008 and had a very successful year at the Preliminary level before moving up to Intermediate in the winter of 2009. Christa and Edward have been competing successfully at the Advanced level since the winter of 2012, and finished the 2013 Rocking Horse HT Advanced on their dressage score! Edward has really developed into superb jumper, and absolutely loves cross-country. He is a total sweetheart and a real barn favorite.
Thalia Light aka “Taylor”
Taylor is a 1998 17.3h Irish Thoroughbred gelding. Christa purchased him in the summer of 2006 from Phillip Dutton. Taylor has truly been a gentle giant since day one. He gave Christa confidence and taught her the ropes during her early days of upper level eventing. They have competed through the Advanced level together. In 2010 they competed at the Intermediate level at the Florida Horse park and Christa was the highest placed young rider in the division. Taylor is now enjoying retirement from the upper levels at Oakmont Equestrian Center where his is Christa’s mom and number one fan, Cathy’s dressage and pleasure horse.
Daybreak aka “Kid”
Kid is a 1993 16h Thoroughbred gelding. Kid was Christa’s first horse who she purchased in 2003 from Marilyn Payne. Kid and Christa competed to the Preliminary level, and he was sold in the spring of 2007. He played a crucial role in introducing Christa to the sport of eventing.
The Federalist aka “Roo”
Roo is a 1991 16h Thoroughbred gelding. Roo had been previously been owned by Stephanie Boyer and Holly Payne who both competed him at the Advanced level. Christa and Roo competed in numerous Preliminary level events where they had multiple placings.
Shahaadi aka “George”
George is a 2002 American Thoroughbred standing at a whopping 15.3h (on a tall day). George is your typical “chestnut Thoroughbred.” He is a little horse that holds a lot of attitude and presence. Christa purchased him in 2007 from Julia Steinburg as a very green Training horse, and he showed a lot of promise from the very beginning. In 2008 Christa had a great season, finishing the year ranked as the 5th YR Preliminary rider in the country. He had turned into a very bold competitor and a true partner, competing through the 2* and Advanced level, before retiring due to an unfortunate career-ending injury in 2013. He is now enjoying his retirement at Oakmont Equestrian Center with his buddy, Thalia Light.
